Frank Di Camillo Obituary

Di CAMILLO, Frank (Francesco)  In East Boston, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the presence and love of his family on January 14, 2026 following and unexpected illness.

Beloved and devoted husband of Anna Maria and loving father of Bina Marisa of Rome, Italy and Paula Luisa and Sandra of Boston.

Frank was born in Cansano, Aquila, Italy.  After World War II had ended, he emigrated to the U.S on a military ship when he was young with his mother and two sisters to join his father Domenico (Domenick), arriving in new York City and living in Brooklyn before moving to Boston.

Frank completed the Classical Lyceum in Sulmona, Italy. He then attended Boston University after receiving a scholarship and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Romance Languages. Besides his native Italian language, Frank was fluent in English, French, and Spanish and also used these languages as part of his career. He also had a Master in Business Administration. He was employed as a Senior Trust Officer at Bank of Boston (now Bank of America) until his retirement.

Frank never forgot his roots and where he came from, his beloved native town located in the Abruzzo region, his dear relatives, his many friends and others he left behind.  He always maintained communication with them and they with him. Over the years, he was able to return to Italy time and time again and spend time with these people.

Frank believed it was important to expose his family to Italian culture and it is one of the most valuable gifts that he passed on to his family.  In addition, he believed it was important to adopt and respect American culture.  In doing so, Frank became a citizen of the world.

Activity related, Frank loved to walk outdoors in the fresh air and did this for most of his lifetime. He grew up in the Appenine mountains in Italy and climbed the hills and mountains on a daily basis.  Moreover, Frank belonged to a soccer team in his town and held the position of goalkeeper. In addition, he was gifted with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. For many years he belonged to Our Lady, Queen of the Universe Madonna Shrine choir, under the direction of Father Lawrence Tosato, located in East Boston.

He enjoyed reading books especially on the history of World War II, Italian literature and the lives of the saints, and listening to classical music and opera.  He also loved good healthy food.

Frank was a man of great faith, integrity and resilience whose life focused on family, tradition and hard work.  In life, he never lost his sense of optimism and hopefulness. Very importantly, Frank always counted his blessings and looked forward to each and every day.  He was also able to enjoy and always appreciate the simple pleasures of life.

Above all, Frank lived for his loving family whom he adored and appreciated every day.  His wife Anna Maria and his daughters Bina Marisa, Paula and Sandra are blessed an so grateful for having Frank in their lives for so many years. his kindness, generosity, dedication and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.  His passing has left an immense void in the hearts of his family.

Frank was a beautiful, amazing and wonderful husband, father, son, brother, friend, neighbor and citizen. Among his friends he truly valued his friendship with longtime neighbor Harold Patrick Rose and the entire Rose family.

He was always young at heart and will remain so. Frank will always be remembered and loved.
